Overview
A custom guard ring protects the edge of a hole or an opening, so a cable or a shaft cannot rub against a sharp panel edge. These rings are molded as a family of annular parts: a guard ring that seats in a punched opening, a sleeve ring with a longer wall that guides a shaft through the hole, and a thin spacer washer that sets the gap between two assembled parts.
Each ring is molded to the bore and the wall the job needs, and the three types share one mould program, so a kit can be supplied in matched sizes and colours. Because a custom guard ring is molded, the bore, the outer wall and any locating key are formed in one cycle with no machining of the ring edge.
A custom guard ring is molded for the same assembly as our round sleeve and our ring bushing, but each covers a different duty: the ring bushing spaces two parts, the round sleeve runs a shaft over its full travel, and the guard ring protects the opening edge itself.

Customization Options
Bore diameter, outer diameter, ring height, wall thickness and the position of any locating key are all set by your 3D file. We mold in PA6, POM, ABS, PP and glass filled nylon in any colour, including the black, grey and beige shown here, and can supply the three ring types as one matched kit for the same assembly. A revised custom guard ring usually means only a local tool change, so a new bore keeps the same outer wall.
Quality & Delivery
Parts are checked for bore diameter, outer diameter, ring height and wall thickness, and each ring is test fitted in a sample opening before the run continues.
