Overview
This plastic hex bolt is a custom injection molded fastener produced to your drawing, and the photo shows one bolt together with a matching hex nut. It is specified where a threaded joint has to stay non-metallic, so the part does not rust in wet or wash-down areas. Typical uses are housings, panels and equipment covers that are washed or wiped down between shifts.
Key Features & Benefits
– Hex head — a standard wrench or socket can drive it without a special bit
– Full-length molded thread — the thread runs the whole shank shown in the photo
– Off-white color as shown — other colors can run from the same tool
– Matching hex nut — one tool family covers both parts of the joint
– Non-metallic body — softer than steel, so it will not mark a coated or plated surface
– Molded in one shot — head and thread come off the tool as a single solid part
Customization Options
The diameter, the pitch, the shank length and the head size are all tool-controlled, so they are set to your drawing values before the tool is cut. Send the drawing and we confirm the draft on the thread, the shrinkage allowance and the gate position. We also flag any thread that is too coarse or too fine to mold cleanly at the wall thickness you need.
Every plastic hex bolt is produced in the same cavity layout, so the pitch, the thread root and the across-flats stay identical across the order. If you need a longer or shorter thread length, we adjust the tool rather than the cycle. Mold fabrication and trial samples follow the drawing tolerances you set.
Ordering and quotation
Send your 3D file with the thread callout and the yearly volume. You receive a molding quotation that lists tooling cost, cycle time and sample lead time, and molded samples are measured against your 3D file before shipment. The yearly volume also decides how many cavities the tool should carry.
