Overview
A plastic stop sleeve limits how far a shaft, a rod or a guide post travels and holds a moving part off a mating face. The body is molded as a cylinder with a top shoulder, and a slot runs down its length, so the sleeve flexes over the shaft and snaps into place without stripping the assembly down. The bore is left smooth, which lets the shaft slide or turn inside the sleeve without scuffing the surface, and the top shoulder gives the sleeve a face to stop against its mating part.
Because a plastic stop sleeve is molded in one piece, the bore, the top shoulder and the open slot are formed in a single cycle, so the sleeve grips the shaft evenly and the slot keeps the same width on every part.
Our custom round sleeve is a closed ring that runs inside a housing hole and gives a shaft a smooth surface to move in, while this stop sleeve is split along its length so it flexes over a shaft or a rod and holds its position. Our custom ring bushing is an annular ring that spaces one part from another, and our machined bushing and sleeve is turned from metal where the duty calls for it.

Customization Options
Shaft diameter, sleeve length, wall thickness, slot width, shoulder diameter and shoulder height are all set by your 3D file. We mold in PA6, POM, ABS and glass filled nylon in any colour, and can add a chamfer at the bore entry, a second slot on the opposite side for a lighter grip, or a colour match to the machine housing. A revised plastic stop sleeve usually needs only a tool insert change, so a new shaft diameter keeps the same shoulder.

Each plastic stop sleeve is checked for shaft diameter, sleeve length, wall thickness and shoulder diameter, and the slot is gauged for an even width along the wall.
