Overview

A terminal junction box is a molded box that stands on the outside of an enclosure and covers the place where wires are joined. It is molded in one piece: a box body with a grid of recessed cells across the lid, a stepped skirt around the base, and two mounting ears with through bores at opposite ends. The base is open, so wires run in from the enclosure.

The ears carry the fasteners of a terminal junction box. They are molded on one line, so both bores sit on the same axis, and the skirt under them steps down to meet the panel square.

It sits with the other boxes we mold. Our junction box with metal inserts carries terminals on a plate, the red hinged junction box opens on a hinge, and the cable gland housing brings a cable in through a gland. This terminal junction box is the one that guards a splice on the outside of a machine.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Lid cells: a grid molded even across the top
  • Ears: through bores on one line
  • Skirt: a step that seats on the panel
  • Walls: square, so the box closes on the opening
  • Base: open, so wires run in

Because a terminal junction box is molded to your 3D file, the ear spacing, the cell grid and the skirt repeat cavity to cavity, so every box in a run mounts the same way.

Customization Options

Outline, box depth, cell grid, ear bore, skirt step, resin and color all come from your 3D file, so a terminal junction box is molded for the panel you fit.

  • Outline: box size and the corner radius
  • Depth: wall height from your model
  • Cells: grid size and spacing from your model
  • Ears: bore size and spacing from your model
  • Color: a black grade, a shade you match or a two tone split
  • Finish: the sheen your 3D file calls for

Quality & Delivery

Tooling for a terminal junction box is cut in our own mold shop, and the first article of every box is gauged against your 3D file, ear spacing and skirt step included, before the run is released.

Mold faces are finished to the sheen your 3D file calls for, the gate is trimmed flush on the base, and the ears come off the mold without sink. Lead time is quoted with the unit price and held to the date, and each batch is gauged before packing.

We mold every terminal junction box to your 3D file, so the ears, the grid and the skirt follow the model. Send the 3D file for a quotation with the tool cost and the unit price.
