Overview

This molded connecting plate is produced as a flat part with two counterbored holes, so it bridges two sections of a frame and holds them in line. The counterbores let the bolt heads sit flush with the surface, which keeps the joint clear of anything that slides past it. Consistent thickness across the plate keeps the clamping load even at both holes. A molded connecting plate replaces a machined or welded bracket, removes the weight of the metal joint and insulates the two frame sections from each other.

Key Features & Benefits

Customization Options

Hole diameter, hole spacing, overall length, width, thickness and counterbore depth are all set by your 3D file. We mold in PP, ABS, PA6 and glass filled nylon in any colour, and can add a molded rib or a curved profile where the plate spans a gap. Because a molded connecting plate is molded, a local hole change usually means a tool insert change rather than a new tool, which keeps late revisions affordable.

Quality & Delivery

Parts are checked for overall length, hole spacing, hole diameter and thickness, and first articles are sent for approval before the run continues. Packing keeps the plates flat, so a molded connecting plate arrives ready to bolt on. Send your 3D file through our quotation page and we will confirm material, tooling and lead time.

Related Capabilities

Connecting plates are molded alongside our plastic frame connector, plastic mounting bracket and plastic spacer block, which cover the rest of a frame joint. All of them are molded in house under our injection molding service.
