Overview
A black oval tube plug presses into an elliptical profile tube and closes the cut end, so the sharp edge is covered and the inside of the tube stays free of dirt. The body carries layered ribs that flex as the plug is pressed in, which lets the same plug take up small differences in tube wall thickness. A rounded oval face finishes the tube end, and the same family includes a sleeve body with an open bore for tubes that have to stay open for a mating part.
Because a black oval tube plug is molded, the oval face and the layered ribs are formed in one cycle, so every part seats to the same depth and the ribs stay even around the section.
Oval and elliptical sections are common on furniture tubing and light equipment frames, where our custom oval tube end cap covers the tube with a single groove in grey, while this plug is the ribbed version for black frames and for tubes whose wall thickness varies along the run.

Customization Options
Oval width, oval height, plug length, rib count, rib diameter and corner radius are all set by your 3D file. We mold in PA6, ABS, PP and glass filled nylon in any colour, and can supply the closed plug and the open sleeve body from one matched kit where a frame needs both. A revised black oval tube plug usually needs only a tool insert change, so a new tube section keeps the same rib pattern.
