Overview

These custom machined structural parts are milled from aluminum and steel bar into non-circular blocks, bars and angle pieces. Each one carries mounting holes, milled flat faces and slots that line up with the frame it bolts to. A locating surface sets the block position before the bolts are tightened, which keeps an automation frame square after assembly.

Because custom machined structural parts are cut from solid stock, a design change usually means a program edit rather than a new tool. Custom machined structural parts also replace a welded bracket when the joint has to come apart again for service.

Key Features & Benefits

– Mounting holes — drilled and tapped to your 3D file
– Slot features — allow adjustment on assembly
– Milled flat surfaces — seat squarely against a frame
– Locating surfaces — set the block position
– Aluminum and steel — supplied as-machined or anodized

Customization Options

Overall length, block height, hole pitch, slot width and thread size are all set by your 3D file. We mill aluminum, mild steel and stainless steel, and can add a hard anodized or bead blasted finish where the part is visible on the machine.

Prototype blocks and matched sets run through the same program, so revised custom machined structural parts do not need a new fixture. Threaded inserts, counterbores and relief pockets are added where the frame carries a moving slide.

Quality & Delivery

Inspection covers overall length, hole pitch, thread size and flatness on the seating face, with a dimensional report supplied for critical assemblies. First articles are sent for approval before the run continues, and packing keeps the milled faces apart so the block arrives ready to bolt on. Send your 3D file through our quotation page and we will confirm material, finish and lead time.

Related Capabilities

These blocks often appear next to our molded plastic frame connector, plastic mounting bracket and plastic connection housing, which suit lighter frames and lower loads. Our mold-making team also mills its own steel and aluminum details, so this class of work sits beside normal mold production.
