Overview
These machined metal housing parts are milled from aluminum bar into shapes that a molding tool could not release, with cavities, through openings, bores and mounting features cut into the same block. Wall sections stay thick where the housing carries a thread and thin where the part only closes a cavity, which keeps weight down without weakening the mounting points. Because each machined metal housing is cut from solid stock, a design revision never needs a new tool.
Key Features & Benefits
– Cavities and pockets — milled from solid aluminum bar
– Through openings and bores — cut in the same setup
– Mounting features — drilled and tapped to your 3D file
– Complex contours — milled without a draft angle
– Aluminum, steel and stainless — matched to the application
Customization Options
Overall outline, cavity depth, wall thickness, bore size and mounting hole pitch are all set by your 3D file. We machine aluminum, mild steel and stainless steel, and can add a hard anodized or bead blasted finish where the housing stays visible. A revised machined metal housing is handled with a program edit, so an updated design returns to production without new tooling.
Quality & Delivery
Inspection covers cavity depth, bore size, hole position and flatness on the mounting face, and a dimensional report is supplied for critical assemblies. First articles are sent for approval before the run continues, and every machined metal housing is deburred and cleaned before packing. Send your 3D file through our quotation page and we will confirm material, finish and lead time.
Related Capabilities
A machined metal housing suits complex geometry that a mold could not release, or a design that is still being refined. Where the shape allows it, the same part also runs on our injection molding service, so the route is chosen per project. Our molded plastic connection housing and plastic mounting bracket cover the polymer side of this part.
