Overview
A plastic control knob turns a control shaft by hand, and the vertical knurling gives the fingers a firm hold on a small diameter. The bore is molded hollow inside the body so the knob mounts over a round shaft or a similar actuator, and the tapered wall is wider at the base, which keeps the knob steady where it meets the panel. The knurling runs straight from the base to the top rim, so the grip stays even through a full turn.
Because a plastic control knob is molded, the knurling and the bore are formed in one cycle, so the flutes stay even around the body and the bore stays concentric with the outer wall.
The knurled control knob in our range carries a white indicator line and a closed step top for reading against a dial, while this knob is the plain grip version with an open bore that takes the shaft directly. Where a knob has to screw onto a stud instead, our threaded insert knob carries a metal threaded boss.

Customization Options
Body diameter, base diameter, knob height, knurl pitch, flute depth and bore diameter are all set by your 3D file. We mold in PA6, ABS, POM and glass filled nylon in any colour, and can mold a pointer line, a numbering pad or a grub screw hole into the body where the knob has to be marked or locked. A revised plastic control knob usually needs only a tool insert change, so a new bore keeps the same knurl.

Each plastic control knob is checked for body diameter, base diameter, knob height and bore diameter, and every knob is test fitted on a sample shaft before the run continues.
