Overview

A split connector shell is molded as two halves. Each half carries a semicircular wall, a square window with stepped edges, a boss with a bore and rib webs that tie the wall to the base. A port runs through the outer wall, and the mating faces close so the halves make one body.

Our locking plastic connector shell closes on a latch, the plastic electrical connector housing forms a socket shell, and the multi-pin connector housing holds a pin block. This split connector shell is molded as two halves that meet on their mating faces.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Two halves — each comes off its own tool, cut to one 3D file
  • Mating faces — the closing faces are wired to each other in the tool
  • Ribs and boss — each sits where your model puts it
  • Square window — the aperture is molded with stepped edges
  • Wall port — the bore through the wall comes in line with the shell

Because a split connector shell is molded from two tools built to one 3D file, the halves close on each other at the first assembly.

Customization Options

Shell diameter, half height, wall section, window size and port bore come from your 3D file, so a split connector shell is molded for the assembly you already run.

  • Window and ribs — placed where your model puts them
  • Bosses — sized to the screw your assembly uses
  • Resin — picked to suit the duty and the medium at your end
  • Color — black, gray or another shade, single or two-tone

Quality & Delivery

Tooling for a split connector shell is cut in our own shop, and the first article is gauged against your 3D file — shell diameter, window size, rib position and port bore — before the run is released. Both halves are checked as a pair.

Surface finish comes off the tool. The mold faces are polished to the sheen your 3D file calls for, the mating faces are held flat, and the gate is trimmed flush with the wall. Lead time is quoted with the unit price and held to the date, and each batch is gauged before packing.

We mold each split connector shell to your 3D file, so the wall, the window and the port follow the model. Send the 3D file and we return a quotation with the tool cost, the unit price and the lead time.

Tooling and molding both run in house — on our mold making floor and our injection molding service presses. The custom corner connector supports a panel joint. Send your 3D file for a quotation.
