Overview

A modular mounting frame is a molded square frame that seats a lens and lines up with the frames beside it. The face carries a round bore for the lens, a lattice of ribs runs behind the face, and snap tabs on all four edges hold frame to frame when a run of them is built into an array. A screw boss sits in the rib lattice, and the part is molded in one piece, so the bore, the ribs, the tabs and the boss come off the same tool.

It sits beside the light and module parts we mold. Our led light housing is a molded shell for a linear light, the heatsink module housing wraps a board, and the sensor housing carries a lens and a port. This modular mounting frame is the one that tiles into an array.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Round bore — the lens seat molded to your model
  • Rib lattice — ribs carry the wall behind the face
  • Snap tabs — the four edges meet the frames beside them
  • Screw boss — set into the rib lattice
  • Square body — the frame sits square in your panel
  • One piece — bore, ribs, tabs and boss off one mold

Because a modular mounting frame is molded to your 3D file, the bore and the tab spacing repeat cavity to cavity, so every frame in a run meets the next.

Customization Options

Frame size, bore, rib pattern, tab position, boss and color all come from your 3D file, so a modular mounting frame is molded for your array.

  • Bore — sized to the lens you seat
  • Frame — outer size and wall to your model
  • Tabs — position and step on each edge
  • Boss — placed where your screw lands
  • Resin — the grade your part calls for
  • Color — a black grade, a shade you match or a two-tone split

Quality & Delivery

Tooling for a modular mounting frame is cut in our own shop, and the first article of every frame is gauged against your 3D file — bore, frame size, tab step and boss — before the run is released.

Mold faces are finished to the sheen your 3D file calls for, the gate is trimmed flush behind the face, and the tab edges come off the mold clean so the frames meet. Lead time is quoted with the unit price and held to the date, and each batch is gauged on the same instruments before packing.

We mold each modular mounting frame to your 3D file, so the bore, ribs and tabs follow the model. Send the 3D file and we return a quotation with the tool cost and the unit price.

Mounting parts sit beside this modular mounting frame. Our reinforced mounting bracket is a ribbed support and the plastic mounting bracket carries a controller, while the central bore mounting flange sets a bore in a face.

Tooling and molding both run in house — on our mold making floor and our injection molding service presses. Send your 3D file for a quotation.
