Overview
An extruded aluminum enclosure is supplied as a split two-piece body. The profile is cut to length, and two end plates close the ends. The extrusion carries mounting slots inside the walls, so a board slides in along the length, and the outer face is left plain, which lets a label or a printed panel sit flat on it.
The end plates are machined to the cut-outs your connectors need, and they fasten into the ends with screws, so the enclosure opens again without cutting anything.
Our machined metal housing is milled from aluminum bar into shapes that an extrusion cannot run. An extruded aluminum enclosure instead keeps the same cross-section along its full length, so a longer body is cut from the same profile rather than milled from solid stock.
Our custom machined structural parts are cut from aluminum and steel blocks for frames, and our transparent electronic enclosure is molded in clear plastic where the housing has to be see-through.
Key Features & Benefits
– Extruded body — constant profile to any length
– Two end plates — machined to your cut-outs
– Internal slots — rails formed along the walls
– Screw fixing — plates fasten into the ends
– Cut to length — sized to the length you need
Customization Options
Profile width, profile height, wall thickness, internal slot width, cut length, end plate thickness, cut-out shape and screw positions are all set by your 3D file. We supply the body in aluminum with the surface finish you specify, and the end plates are machined to match. A revised extruded aluminum enclosure usually needs only a new cut length or a new end plate, so a longer body keeps the same profile.
Quality & Delivery
Each extruded aluminum enclosure is checked for profile height, profile width, internal slot width and cut length, and the end plates are gauged against the cut-outs before the run continues. First articles are sent for approval, so an extruded aluminum enclosure arrives ready to fit. Send your 3D file through our quotation page and we will confirm finish, cut length and lead time.
Related Capabilities
An extruded aluminum enclosure is supplied alongside our machined metal housing, which is milled from solid bar, and our custom machined structural parts, which are cut from aluminum and steel blocks. Where the housing has to be clear, our transparent electronic enclosure is molded in plastic instead. The plates and the body are brought together on our product assembly line, and the range runs beside our injection molding service.
