Overview
A seat backrest is molded as a curved shell that follows the line of the back, with an oval grip hole cut through it. The shell is hollow, which keeps the seat light enough to pick up and move, and the hole carries a molded rim so the edge around it stays stiff when the seat is lifted by the hand.
The bottom of the shell closes on a flat rim, so it seats against the frame it mounts to rather than rocking on a curved edge.
Because a seat backrest is molded in one piece, the curve, the grip hole and the bottom rim are formed to the same 3D file, so the shell keeps the same profile on every part.

Customization Options
Shell length, shell width, shell height, back curve radius, grip hole length, grip hole width, rim thickness and wall thickness are all set by your 3D file. We mold the shell in PP, ABS and glass filled nylon in any color, with a matte or gloss face, and the profile is cut into the tool from your own file, so the shape stays yours. A revised seat backrest usually needs only a tool insert change, so a new shell height keeps the same grip hole.

Each seat backrest is checked for shell length, shell width and wall thickness, and the grip hole and the bottom rim are gauged against your 3D file before the run continues.
