Overview
A plastic band clamp is a split ring that wraps a round rim and pulls down on it with a bolt. It is molded as one piece: a band with a long open slot through its wall, two stacked ears at the split, a through hole in each ear, a ribbed inner face and a locator pip on the outer face.
A plastic band clamp passes over the rim of a barrel or a filter body, the ears come together and a bolt through them closes the gap. The slot runs past the second ear, so the band springs open without a hard spot at the split, and the ribs bear on the rim around the full circle rather than at one point.
